TOUCHDOWN TOSS - SETUP & DIRECTIONS

Short Carnival Savers video/gif shows a football field decorated board with 2 different sized holes and a football being tossed through.
Supplies for Touchdown Toss Game:
Large Piece of Plywood and Woodworking Tools (adult with tools to make game as shown above)
2 x 4 Pieces of wood and wood hinges to make the frame (this game sets up like a picture frame) Green Turf and White Duct Tape to make the game as shown above
Staple Gun for wood and wood staples Small Footballs (at least 6 to make it easier for volunteers)
Ticket Box and Game Sign
A way to mark stand behind lines - hula hoops, spray paint, sidewalk chalk or plastic traffic cones
Consolation Prizes and Top Prizes for the winners
Make This Fall Game:
Using the large piece of plywood, cut two holes, one smaller and 1 larger as show in the image above.
Next, the adult volunteer is going to fashion a frame to support this game upright with the 2 x 4 wood boards using hinges and a safety device that will prevent the game from collapsing and falling backwards especially with a gust of wind!
Finally, this game is covered with green turf held by wood stapes and decorated with the white duct tape to resemble a football field.
Game Setup:
Before the carnival, set up the game and you different "stand behind lines" and test it out.
Your goal is to make this fairly challenging and also make it a little easier for the younger players.
How to Play the Touchdown Toss Game:
Children are given 3 chances to throw the football into one of the holes cut from the plywood game to score.
Of course, you can set the rules how they work best for your homemade game, but generally, younger children are given three chances to toss the football through one of the holes to win.
Older children (12 years and up), teens and adults must get one football through the smaller hole to win.
About 1 in 12 or so players should be able to win your top carnival prize. So if your volunteers test it out, and they find after just a few tries, they have 1 in 4 chance of winning, you can move your lines backwards, or require that carnival players must make 2 of the three throws in the hole to win a top prize!
Additional Hints & Tips:
Older children and adults really enjoy this fall festival game that require skill to win - so this is a great teen carnival game!
